Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park

Cost: Free! No permits required.
Commute: ~1 hour 20 minutes from downtown Chattanooga
Accessibility: Easy to navigate to and accessible for wheelchairs through a lot of the park!
Features: Blue walking bridge, natural trails, playground, camping, open fields of tall grass (and weeds - be careful), river views, and a few overlooks.
Great for maternity portraits, family portraits, and couples shoots.
Other things to know: The park has a lot to explore, so I’d plan for a bit more time during your shoot to walk to find trails and other great nooks to shoot at!

endless trails

open fields

Honestly, this space was so impressive. It was an overcast morning (originally supposed to be a sunrise shoot) and it still showed out for us. The colors on the leaves were almost to peak and they reflected on the water under the Chattanooga-esque bridge.

Fall foliage reflecting colors onto the water + walking bridge + trails + open fields of tall grass = chef’s (photog’s) kiss 🤌
